Primary school in Satkhira-Sundarban in partnership with DSF-SEDA. Help our project by sponsoring a child. It will cost $250 per student per year to operate the school (despite various government subsidies).
Our biggest and most ambitious project thus far. A primary school (Kindergarten to grade 5) at Satikhira Gabura located right beside the famous Sundarbans. There was an acute need for school in this area, there was no primary school present within 5-8 km radius of that place. The children there either could not attend the school because it was too far and they were too young to commute and or could not afford to finance their education.
Our main intention was to sponsor children from the most improvised& financially incapable households. Each student was hand picked regardless of their creed and gender.
For daily operations we have partnered with the Do Something Foundation (DSF) and Socio Economic Development Alliance (SEDA), who have a great track record in delivering various humanitarian missions in Bangladesh. Currently, they operate three primary schools in various districts in Bangladesh.
We have already procured the land and built a three room classroom which houses 72 students and counting. The school has three fulltime instructors and a cleaner. CSGC intends to cover all school related expenses indefinitely. Expenses such as teacher salaries, books, stationary, uniforms, building maintenance, etc. We also sponsor daily charity events in school such as food programs, winter cloth and blanket distributions.
In addition to the primary school, in the future we plan to be able to provide technical (IT/computer) training, animal husbandry and other forms of vocational training after school hours for the adults.
It will cost $250 per student per year to operate the school (despite various government subsidies). Each one of us involved in this project have made a personal commitment to support the operating costs for years to come.
